Oh Dad, I would sit and listen to the stories you told me of your early life which were happy times. But then war snatched you away from your family. When you married Mum a new family was born, you worked so hard to keep us a family that I hardly saw you.
When we left home and you finished work, you came and saw your grandchildren nearly every day, and always with a smile on your face. Then you turned not from Dad but into a friend as well. Time made you tired, and you are with the Angels now. I loved you then and I will love you forever.
